Overnight Stays and Seva at Myogetsubo
Students who are attending a program at Myogetsubo Studio are offered the opportunity to stay overnight and experience the special environment and natural setting of Nikko and Myogetsubo Studio. Eligible students may stay overnight at the studio on the night before the program and the following night if it is a two day program. The studio can accommodate up to 10 students. Teachers and their students are welcome as a group for a weekend experience. Applications are on a first come first served basis or through the teacher.
Overnight guests at the studio are requested to offer one hour of "Seva" service to the studio as part of their stay. "Seva" is an offering of service, usually out of gratitude, and at the studio it consists of studio and garden maintenance activities such as sweeping floors and raking leaves. Students and teachers who stay overnight are expected to bring their own sleeping bags or the equivalent. Studio mats and blankets may be used underneath sleeping bags. Toilets and sinks are available for use but there are no bathing facilities available except at a local onsen. The cost is ¥1,500 and 1 hour of "Seva" service to the studio during the stay. This includes a light breakfast. Payment can be made in cash upon arrival at the studio.
After registering for class at Myogetsubo, applications for overnight stays are available by emailing info@econikko.com. You will be informed if you have been accepted within a week of applying. Registering for class at Myogetsubo does not guarantee overnight accommodations unless previously agreed with by the teacher.
